Beyond Borders is a documentary film that aims to explore the growing presence of African representation in the international metal/alternative community and aims to give a voice to the artists in the scene. We will meet with various professionals who have promoted metal/punk/rock in Africa since its beginnings and also feature a special collaboration with Wacken Metal Battle & Wacken Open Air. The themes brush on the controversy of metal, lack of funding/support in the industry, the impacts of COVID and the history of the scene across 6 different regions; South Africa / Botswana / Kenya / Angola / Mozambique / Namibia.
